If I were to ever write a listicle about “The 8 Kinds of Americans You’ll Meet When You Study Abroad in China,” I would save this kind for last, because they are both infuriating and genuinely mystifying. Why did you come here? I understand missing your home culture, sure. And I would also understand if she was talking about how interesting it can be to see something familiar to you, reflected back through another culture, but that’s not what she was talking about. She just likes American food and speaking English.
But she still ends it with “china <3”
